In just about 15-20 minutes stroll from the beach front of Albir, towards the light house, you will be rewarded with this grand view of the bay of Albir/Altea. To the left Albir, and to the right in the picture is seen Altea, with the towering Serra de Bernia behind and to the north. The highest peak "Bernia" is 1126 m. above sea level. To the left, Serra de Aitana, and in the middle further away, Serra de Aixorta. The exceptional fine vacation climate experienced in Albir, stems from the shelter of these high mountain ridges surrounding the bay.
(The tall ugly white landmark, close to the beach, is an apartment building constructed some 40 years ago, at a time when rules and regulations pertaining to such matters hardly excisted. However, the fact that 4-5-story building are being constructed in the middle of areas originally regulated for villas, is a proof of the fact that "money rules" in building / construction matters today, as it did in earlier days, when the small fishing village og Benidorm started it's turning into a "manhattan".
