A few yards down the hillside, the gleaming colour of gold caught my left eye... it looked like huge butterflies hoovering in the gentle breeze...
I zoomed in on them with my camera lense... watching one abruptly leaving the rest... flying towards me, and disappearing behind a pine tree.
However, with the hints given above, you have of course already guessed it... it s the last few leaves on a Common Fig tree that caught my eye.
There are several hundred types og figs, but the leaves of the one shown here, might have covered up Adam... unless he was extremely well hung that is.
Actually, the figs are not fruits at all, but flowers, so called "false fruits", where the flower and seeds have grown together to form one soft mass. But by golly do they taste good. And... they are one tasty additional reward for hikers in the autumn, in regions where there are abandoned old farms. They all had a fig tree or two... left there for us today.
